We can assist your IT department by advising on the access requirements, however, only they can actually set up such access as how this can be done will depend on their network and security policies.
Please see the Technical Information section below for further information.

Q: Do DiscloseIT require any support/access from our IT department?

Technical Information
This section contains technical information intended to help you and your IT department
to identify a suitable environment for DiscloseIT Corporate.
Q: What are the system requirements for DiscloseIT RB and Pro?
A: The DiscloseIT application is installed on the client PC.
For each seat you will require a basic PC with one of the following
operating systems installed.
- Windows 2000 with Service pack 4
- Windows XP with Service pack 2
- Windows Vista
Reports etc are produced as a csv format and can be viewed in Notepad or similar, however, Microsoft Excel may be more useful
Q: What are the system requirements for DiscloseIT Copporate?
A: There are few specific hardware or software requirements - the main thing is to ensure that the server offers adequate levels of reliability, and that the data is backed up regularly in case the server should fail in such a way that data is lost.
The following summarises the requirements for the client PCs and for the server:
Client PC
The DiscloseIT application is installed on the client PC.
For each seat you will require a basic PC with one of the following operating systems installed.
- Windows 2000 with Service pack 4
- Windows XP with Service pack 2
- Windows Vista
Reports etc are produced as a csv format and can be viewed in Notepad or similar, however, Microsoft Excel may be more useful
Server
Server requirements are fairly modest, requiring the ability to run a MySQL or MS SQL Server database service and to support Windows file shares.
Operating System
- Any recent version of Windows (2000, XP, Vista or server versions thereof) with current service packs
- Linux (most versions)
- Many other unix-like operating systems
N.B. SQL Server required the Windows operating system.
Server Hardware
Although we specify no specific requirements for hardware on the server, we recommend that careful consideration be given to reliability, data redundancy and backup.
To this end we would suggest a server using multiple disks in a RAID configuration which provides data redundancy (e.g. RAID 1, RAID 5). In such a system, a disk failure will not result in data loss, and will allow the system to continue operating until the failed disk can be
replaced.
In general we would suggest at least 512 Mb RAM, a Pentium III 1GHz processor and 1-2 GB of free disk space.
A CD drive would be useful for performing the installation, and access to some form of backup mechanism (local or remote).
System backups should be performed regularly to avoid data loss in the event of a system failure.
Q: What access does the client requrie to the server?
A: The DiscloseIT client requires the following access to the server:
1. Access to the Windows Share containing the DiscloseIT shared directories.
2. Access to the DiscloseIT database. This will depend on the database server in use. For MySQL the standard access is via TCP on port 3306. For MS SQL Server it is TCP on port 1433.
Q: How can I allow remote access to the DiscloseIT server?
A: The DiscloseIT system requires access to the server in order to be able to run, however, so long as that access is available it will run from anywhere.
We can assist by advising your network administrator on access requirements, however, the actual configuration required will depend on your network and potentially security policies.
Currently we know of users accessing DiscloseIT remotely via Citrix, and via Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
